Characters and themes:
April’s character is made to look perfect, but it is not difficult to see the cracks beneath the surface. You want to believe her, but still keep your skepticism. The supporting characters add to the tension and make it hard to choose sides.
While the themes of appearance versus reality, betrayal, and revenge are obvious, it is hard to miss the psychological toll of keeping secrets.And how sometimes the people closest to you end up becoming your worst nightmares.
What Makes It Special:
If you ask me, I’m a little biased toward Freida’s books. I always choose one over binge‑watching a thriller movie or series, and trust me, they give the same adrenaline rush. This one is no exception; it grips you until the very end, leaving behind a paranoia that lingers long after you put the book down.
