Ted Lasso- An unexpected Favorite
When I first came across Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ during one of my late-evening scrolls, all set to find my next watch, I honestly had zero expectations. It just felt like one of those random picks you make when you don’t want to think too much. And me being neither a football nor a soccer fan (those who know, will know), I didn’t think it would be my kind of show. But wow, I was so wrong.
A couple of episodes in, I was already fully invested—in the grumpy captain, the icy owner, and these underdogs who just couldn’t catch a break. What started off as “just another show” slowly became something I actually looked forward to watching.
Jason Sudeikis’ character, Ted, honestly is here to restore your faith in people. He’s kind, forgiving, a little vulnerable—and in his own way, kind of revolutionary. No matter the circumstances, he shows up for people, and somehow, in today’s world, choosing connections over ego feels rare.
The entire cast—and trust me when I say this—every character comes with their own flaws, baggage, and moments to shine. You might dislike someone at first, feel unsure about them in the middle, and then suddenly find yourself rooting for them. It’s one of those rare shows where almost everyone, at some point, becomes your favorite.
What makes the show extra special is how gently it touches on otherwise heavy topics like anxiety, divorce, and insecurities. Instead of offering quick fixes, it lets the characters sit with them, work through them, and grow in ways that feel authentic and relatable.
So if you finally decide to watch it, Ted Lasso isn’t your usual rough sports commentary—it’s warm and imperfect, much like us in so many ways.
If you’ve already seen it, tell me your favorite moments! And if you’re planning to watch it soon you can watch it on AppleTV+, I’ll be waiting to hear what you think 😊
